Re: engine lift????
I've used forklifts numerous times and as long as the lifting assembly doesn't put all the weight at the end of the forks they're safe.....
I too am looking for a gantry or something that I can assemble in my driveway to pull the engines etc. I'd have to measure but I figure I need at least 6-7 ft. of lift to pull the motor, plus the height of the motor to the top of the gantry/come along and about 9-10 ft. width... There's a guy down the street that has one, I need to knock on his door and see where he got it. I've seen him lift boats with it and the steel beam is about 12-14 in. thick! |
Re: engine lift????
Here you go. I see these in use at Bayway Refinery.

I use the same u-shape boat lift to pull my engines out. Not too expensive and I can lift the boat from the trailer quite easily, plus it is made with bolts so I can store it when I don't need it. To mount it I need someone else, 2 man is enough... pictures to come tonight...
