GM 502 Piston Replacement
Where can I get a decent price on a couple of GM pistions. They seem to be on national backorder and the cheapest I found them was over $120 bucks a piece.
Thanks

Re: GM 502 Piston Replacement
Buy a set of the J/E srp replacement pistons, they will fit a stock bore after honing with a tq plate (they are .004 bigger-4.470 vs 4.466),they weigh close enough to drop in without re-balancing and best of all they use regular rings, not the metric ones which will should cost you 89$ vs 200$ for the metrics. You will never have a oil consumption problem anymore either,Smitty

part # 139481-498$ in comp products catalog. You can sell your remaining ones on e-bay to people like you that just need a couple, you'll have a resh bore and cheaper rings that seal better,Smitty

I just tore down 2 500EFI's....pistons look alright but bore them to 540's. I would think used 502 pistons would be pretty easy to come by.

Re: GM 502 Piston Replacement
ws,
Wiseco has them and they are available individually. I bought a single one a few months ago. The only thing you have to watch is the ring size, some of the early GM's had a strange ring size if I remember correctly. I had to buy two sets of rings to get the correct combo for one engine I did about a year ago. If you can't find the part number I have it at the shop and can give it to you Monday.
