Stick a post in the General Discussion. A few people have owned them here on OSO.

If no luck, I know a guy in VA who has had one for a LOOOOOONG time. I can dig up his email address.

I believe they were made in Crystal Lake, Illinois. They made alot of low profile outboard style boats which were rather fast. They also came out with a couple of small offshore style models towards the end, a 22' and a 25' which was fairly quick but rather "lightly" built. I think the larger boats were built around 1988 or so. Steve

Do a search on here for Switzer. T2x is restoring one right now and is probably the most familiar with them of anybody on this board.

I had a smaller OB model one for a while. It seemed to be built pretty well.. I dont really have a lot of info on them though.. But they did have some unique designs that they ran on som of them.. Especially his tunnels / cats.. Jamie /Lakeside

That is correct they were built in Crystal Lake, Illinois. I know of two in my area. In fact my mechanic is the owner of I believe a 1986 27'.

Crystal Lake IL is correct. Around 1996 Switzer stopped making boats and went onto production of cable, electric, and phone enclosures out of fiberglass. I owned mine for 10 years or so back in the 80's. 16' with an 85hp Merc outboard. The boat was GREAT for skiing and speed. I really enjoyed it for my first boat!
