I have a 2000 Formula 280 BR with twin Mercruiser 5.7 EFI's with Bravo III drives. It has had exhaust routed thru the y-pipes only. I will be changing the risers out of preventive maintenance and I was toying with the idea of routing my exhausts thru the transom. I dont think the factory offered this as an option but I believe there is room just under the swim platform. Has anyone out there done this on this particular model ? I am concerned with the angle I must achieve with the stock (new ) risers. Also what exhaust tips would you recommend ? Straight pipe with internal and external flappers or the angle cut stainless ones with the built in swirl style ? I am interested in getting more sound (without being offensive) and more midrange hp. You advice would be appreciated

Through hulls alone will not give you much HP boost but the tunes it plays sure makes you grin, unless you go for switchable or mufflers it gets a bit tiresome on a long run.

If your interested in switchable exhaust.... a buddy told me the other day he wanted to sell his complete set-ups that are in taking up space in the garage.
