Back in the early 70s,, we were running A small block Ford in Modified Stock car Racing out of NJ and got a inLine Autolite set from Ford. Put it on the motor ,,but when we got to the Track, the Tech Inspectors told to go home and replace it with a Std type 4 barrel, Wouldn't even let us try and set it up and run a few laps to see how it ran. was a neat set up.. We switched to Chevys pretty soon after that. The Ford Dealer that got the set up for us had a few complete setups for the inline Autolite. Interesting Article. Thank you Jim |
Re: Barry Grant Inline 4 barrel
One of the problems with the first Autolites, was that they didn't have an idle circuit so you had to keep the engines over 4000 RPM to even keep them running.
