Default Gen6 Cranks

I had always thought that the Gen6 454 and 502 shared the same crank and rods, (and heads, cam, lifters etc.) but the pistons were obviously different.

When I look at forged cranks in AM catalogs, I see 454 listed with 502. But when I look at GM numbers in, say, the GM crate motors (HO's), and at BAM, for marine motors, I see different part numbers for 454 and 502 forged cranks.

The 502/450 and 502/415 are the same, as is the ZZ502 cranks.

Can anybody tell me what is the difference in Gen6 OE forged 454 and 502 BBC cranks?

What am I not seeing, that is a different feature, between the two?

Either will work each way but you must have the rotating assembly balanced. Not a bad idea anyway
