Thanks for the imput guys! Man those engines eat gas - not a suprise, but wow!
Any other suggestions? Mark |
I'd start the offer at half. You can always raise your offer. Eventualy the owner is gonna want out from under it. Or you may catch him at a time when he could use the coin.

Anybody know what octane those engines need? If its race fuel - forget it. If I were to buy it, I would sell the engines and drives and go with desiels. Or would those drives (#3s) be ok with desiels?
Oh, its in the low 80's here in the Fort - its killing me not to be on a boat today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for your imput guys! Mark |

I'm sure a number of you have seen the 1984 Aronow Cat that has been for sale for 3-4 years with 800SC & #3's. Could any of you pros shed some light on why you think it has not sold and what kind of concerns YOU would have with buying this boat?
If Marc McManis re-rigged and went over this boat - I would think it is OK? Thank you! Mark Buy something else.... |
800SC's require a minimum of 92 Octane. They are 572 CI engines with B&M 420 blowers at 8# of boost.

Yeah, it was an interesting idea to buy it. It was fun getting feedback on it! Thanks guys!
My first choice is a 1998 or newer 382 fastec. Can't go wrong with that boat - for my needs. Sure wish Cigarette had a cabin like a Formula - there would already be one out back! Mark |
Mark, I sent an e-mail.

Thanks Chris! Tried to write you back but computer keeps locking up!
e-mail anytime, Mark |
