OK, so most won't like what I did, but it works for me. Went with the "pump style". Mounted a industrial 12V pump under the bench seat and used quick change drain line to the fitting on the bottom of the oil pan, then connected to the oil cooler before the filter using high pressure hydraulic check valve (best quality parker haniffin) good to 3000 psi.
(The check valve closes when the engine oil pump builds pressure). When under the seat it is totally isolated from the bilge. The pump builds to about 40 psi, then the internal pressure switch turns it off until the pressure falls to 20 psi and then it starts again.
Pump is a three lobe diaphragm type with all the pump parts in composites. (grainger). You can get one that is ignition protected (and CG approved) but I did not want it mounted in a very tight engine bay as I can hardly get in to do service on the sea pumps/ect as it is. We do not use under seat storage as it is a hassle when more than a couple of people on the boat anyway.
