I'm looking into some electronics for naviagtion for my Pantera. I don't need anything hard core because I'm on Lanier in Atl. I do want to make trips to the coast a couple of times a year. I removed a compass last yr while doing a referb and thought about mounting something there.
I don't know squat about what's available ,but I know you guys do. What do you recomend?
Last time out I was uneasy about where I was going. I had some unmarked areas. Later I found out how uncool it was.
Maybe this pic will show you what I'm dealing with

What kind of info do these things give you?
I'm sure the more you spend the more bells and whistles.
I assume channels and depths are on the charts. Do they show where you are on the graph with gps.etc??

They give you a rolling map that shows your position in the center of it. The price variation is mainly related to the size and quality of the display. As said, once you have it you cant understand how you could live without it.
