I ended up super-glueing the plastic pieces together (Goop Weld or something like that). Seems solid and installed. Now I don't care what that switch does - as long as it does what it's supposed to do!!! :boat:

Rotax,
You are talking about two different switches.
Neutral safety switch, only allows the starter to function in Neutral.
Interrupter switch, kills the ignition while shifting. Used on the Alpha drives.

the purpose of the cutout switch is so you can pull the drive out of gear, it kills the engine for a split second..if their not hooked up the drive will stay in gear even tho the control is in neutral.

thats if this is the switch on the shift cable assenbly...all you have to do is shut the engine off before you try to take it out of gear, once out you will have to restart and select your other gear...it will be a pain to dock with out this switch..

actually had that prob today , had a wire off my interupt switch , had issues with shifting found problem ,fixxed , and took boat out for maiden voyage ,, and thank you mrfixxall ! thanks for your help with my outdrive

Ahhhhh. You have answered my question. Bravo's do not have (or need) an interrupter switch to the ignition.
Thank you sir.
