Ignition alarm help.
Port side sounds off as soon as you turn the ignition on and it seems worse when its warm. Gauges all look good and fluids have all been checked, what else? Some think it could be just not working right or have a short. It will also not stop once started but does stop after a minute or less. Starboard enging has never sounded.
Thanks

Moeron,
Hows the new Formula coming? Still finding out things every time you get on the boat? Did you check the drive fluid bottle? Your alarm will sound if the fluid level is low.

brown wires are used to sound alarms, low drive oil, trans temp, engine temp low oil press.etc when brown wire is grounded it completes audible circuit after a timer counts down{ i dont use timer, when key is turned on alarm sound immediatley until oil press is up then goes off assuming no hi temps] Lift brown wire at each devise until alarm quits. then asses situation . Should be easy to find

actually its a tan with a blue tracer that is the alarm triger wire. as mentioned oil, temp or low drive oil will triger an alarm. sometimes the drive oil is full but the alrm mechanism is faulty.
simply unplug or disconnect each tan with blue tracer wire from said connectors or senders and you should find the problem easily.

Do what monstaa said. Disconnect the wires from each sensor one at a time and turn the key. When the alarm doesn't go off, you have found the bad sensor. I'm guessing it is a sensor since it does shut off after a minute. If it was a short in the wiring, it would most likely come on intermittently.
