Default Kaama Surface Drive Parts?

I'm looking for one transom assy. for Kaama surface drives (just the housing that bolts to the transom). Mine had a bearing failure, locked up in the housing, spun, then bent the shaft. Anyone have any leads on one of these? Eric

call dan at archer marine in california.he may have somthing. if push comes to shove can the housing be built back up and re cut for the bearing to sit into. Then have another shaft made. Have had mine apart a few times and there is not much in there other than two bearings two seals and a shaft.

Thanks, I took the shaft to a friend who is going to build the outside of the new bearing w/a type of chrome, and remachine it to a good press fit. The shaft has been straightened but isn't perfect so it will also be chromed and remachined. I bought the new bearings a while ago but just ordered the new seals. I'll see how this goes! Should be good the shop is very good.

I think there great. Preventitive maintenance is the name of the game with them. I have had issues in the past,if bearings get loose or come apart they make a real mess. Since the housings or casings are hard to get now I prefer to pull them, apart and just check everything out, since it is so easy. I have had the other shafts chromed and recut to size. Its nice to have a brotherin the machine trade, it saves $$$$$$ large. Havent had them apart in two years but this year I will just to check, the chroming is better that it ever was. I do have spare drives but not the housing you were looking for. They seem to handle power much better than the bravos or xrs. Also shifting is smooth. Bruce

Originally merc 420,s. Now they are 30 over with Brodix BB1 alum heads with sportsmaster rocker system, Blower Shop 250 with out inner coolers. They were dynoed at 600 with 4 lbs of boost. Am going to change pulleys to bring it back up to 5 to 5.5 lbs. SWaping the heads and rocker system made it breath better and now the boost is only 4lbs GPS at 89.9
