Bravo 1~ Can't buy individual parts any more!
I just got off the phone with a gentleman that is looking at a hard shifting Bravo 1 I have. It is an older unit. He stated that the shifting fork is galled and likely the shaft should be replaced. He has found that these parts are no longer individually available. One has to buy a complete Kit that costs approx $2000. Does anyone know of a source for these items other than Mercruiser?
Shoot, I cannot justify spending that when new replacement drives are
now available for not too much more.

Some of the old stuff is listed no longer
available.
2K sounds high though.
I bought an upgrade kit for about $ 1200-1300
last year from these guys
http://www.mercruiserparts.com/partsByNumber.asp
p/n is 43-883473A4
This was for a 1.5:1 ratio drive, they have others if needed.
It's has the new X type gears, the only other thing you need
is different thrust bearing races on the driven gears that are .040"
thinner than whatever is currently installed in the case now.
Mr Gadgets is the drive guru around here,
he may have a source for you also.
He'll probably chime in here sometime.
available.
