Need input here. I'm running a Lunati 612/612 Lift with a 245 / 250 duration @ 50. 112 Deg centerline. I'm getting breakdown in my lifters for all intents, I've got a valve tick even after adjustment. I think I'm at the limit as far as a cam goes while still using hydraulic roller lifters? Is that right? Anyway, I'd like to use solid rollers on this cam. I don't see why I cant, do you guys? And what do you think of this cam for a blower application? I'm pushin' 8-10 pds. with World Casting oval port heads. Thanks for any input.

I've heard of this before by reputable builders. I am pretty sure you can use solid lifters on a hydraulic cam, but not hydraulic rollers on solid cam.
I believe it is all about the ramp profile of the cam. Aggressive requires solids.

I am having the same problemswith a 600 lift HYD roller cam. Breaking springs and ticking. Generally noisy valve train. I will be going to solid soon as well. By builder says you cant put solid rollers on a HYD cam. There is something about the inital ramp thats different because of the lash. Im not sure but better check it out well. Jas

I agree, 6500 isnt much really for a Hyd lifter. What brand are you running? I'm going to go out on a limb and guess a Comp Cams Type R lifter.
If you havent already, check into the Morel lifters. These things are incredible. I have seen them take 8000 RPM without issue repeatedly.
