Water pressure
Guys,
Where are the water pressure sensors located on a 500hp? Are they sensors or just ports that use pressure to drive the gauge (like a boudon tube)? My port water pressure gauge quit registering after we got stuck in mud Saturday. I assume its just plugged but need to know where to start backflushing.
Thanks
Zack

Usually, water psi gauges are manual and should be tied into one of the engine block drain plugs.. That way you are getting exact block psi. I am going to say you have a hose coming off the stbd side of the block in front of the starter just above where the oil pans starts. Thank you, Cam-shaft.

The guages are fed by a small tube. Chances are the tube is plugged. You may be able able to unclog it with a very thin wire. The tube is most likely fed from the block drain.
