Default Installed new sea water pump & lost water pressure

Sucked up sand 10 days ago and plugged up the hoses. I flushed out all the water hoses, outdrive, engine, exhaust. Then I installed a new shift cable and Quiciksilver Sea water pump, impeller and housing. Everything seems ok, but my water pressure is only 10lb on a full blast run and it used to be 18-20.
Also the temp. seems a little higher (maybe 10) than before. I am looking for ideas to try this weekend.
I was thinking maybe some sand is blocking the hose for the gauge, so I am going to back flush it.
Has anyone had this problem after changing their sea water pump and what did you do to fix it.

the seawater pump is pretty straight forward on install so the gauge sounds like a good culprit. wouldn't take a whole lot to plug the line or the gauge.

Sure you got your inlet and outlet hoses correct?????? With the hoses reversed, it will still pump, just not as efficiently. That would be my guess.

With the engine temp up a little bit , I would think there is still a slight blockage somewhere. Been there , done that

Is the housing scared at all? Not sucking air?

Yeah it sounds like there is still a blockage somewhere in the line. You are not getting the amount of volume that you need to cool effectively.

That's alright BadDog, I was thinking that the gauge would be to simple.
mopower, what did you have for blockage?
I was thinking the guage would be to easy of a fix, but worth a shot. I can flush everything again, but what if that doesn't produce any results? What should I try then!

You probably have sand in the block. Need to put the drain plugs on each side of the block. If no water comes out you will need to back flush until you get all of the sand out.

Thanks for the idea Turbojack. I did drain and flush the block, but I think there is probably more. I think I will just flush out everything again and make sure all the coolers are free of any debris. I'm pretty sure I didn't get it all the first time.
Any other ideas?
