Thanks Warren, Arvis is getting me a new alternator today.

Alternator Guy rebuilt it today, tested it and said it not my problem but needed bearings and the regulator was corroded so he replaced it. back on boat and it seems to be fine running 45 minutes on the hose. Volt meter showed 13.8 to 14 steady and never dropped below 13.8 and the GPS never shut off need to get in the water for final test.

Maybe the regulator was the problem, let us know how your water test goes.
