Default How low can a 496HO idle?

I have boat with a 496 HO hooked up to a Bravo 3, boat runs great but to fast when idleing in the docs. Now the motor idles @ 800RPM. Is it possible to get it any lower than that?

Had a 454 330hp before with the same drive and it idled @ 500RPM with a much more comfortable idle speed.

Book says 650 RPM when in "neutral" at idle with no mention of type drive. Is 800 in neutral around the docks? or in gear around the docks? If in gear that's way high especially spinning counter-rotating props on the Bravo-III.

I would check maybe the throttle linkage to ensure it's not adjusted too far in. Take the diffuser off and look at the throttle boddy plate to see if it's all the way closed the throttle is pulled all the way back. If there's a gap adjust the plate closed.

As suggested, check the throttle cable adjustment, but you may have a bad IAC valve or vacuum leak. Do you access to a scan tool?
