what kind of brand it is? is it Cigarett? Scarab? Magnum?

jdub 06-22-2007 03:29 PM

maybe Donzi, nice hull

stevesxm 06-22-2007 03:49 PM

the present owner..... the guy with the legal title and ownership and regestration papers, doesn't know who made it ?

and you are thinking of taking money out of your pocket and giving it to him ?

please..... call me if you are looking for some nice swamp land in florida.... and i have one of the best bridges ever made for sale as well

The first 3 letters of the serial number stamped on the transom will tell you who the manufacturer is. If the present owner has the title it will be on there. There's a website that will tell you the manufacturer just by the first three letters.

Oh, and it looks like a Magnum to me. ;)

ziemer 06-22-2007 04:00 PM

Here's the website:

http://www.uscgboating.org/recalls/mic_database.htm

You can enter the first three letter's of the HIN or the company name.

Monaco20 06-22-2007 04:18 PM

Where is the hin code placed at the hul?

320es 06-22-2007 05:33 PM

Usually on the transom right side below the rub rail.

Monaco20 06-22-2007 05:44 PM

this hull must be from late 70s they had hin codes back then?

Pwrbt33 06-22-2007 07:56 PM

I'll go with the Magnum thing also. I have worked on a few of them in the past. The ones I use to service didnt have the EURO windshield but the standard type we see today.

John:D

Monaco20 06-22-2007 08:32 PM

Do you have a pic of that magnum type??:D

Monaco20 06-22-2007 08:34 PM

I think it look pretty mouch as a pantera sport 24, but I am not shure at all:D

Fenderjack 06-22-2007 09:03 PM

I'd be willing to bet it's a 7meter MARTINI made in fla. It's about a 1979 or 1980.The vents up by the winshield give me that idea. I had a new one in 1980 went to fla to pick it up.Bought it with no power.Just my 2cents. JOHN

Fenderjack 06-22-2007 09:04 PM

OOOOOOOOOOO forgot mine did not have any numbers on the transom,Just got a bill of orgin with the boat. JOHN

Dangerous Dave 06-22-2007 09:17 PM

I'd say Martini also. Anyone notice the transom assembly? Looks like a volvo hole with an Alpha installed with some big adapter plate. That boat will be a handful without trim tabs.

Monaco20 06-23-2007 08:42 AM

Anyone knows when the factories started with hin codes at the hulls?

On this boat there are none and the hull is late 70s

Monaco20 06-23-2007 12:23 PM

Hi thanks for all replys. Dangerus Dave you are absolutely correct regarding the transom and drive. Trim tabs are 2 on the list after engine if I buy this boat. Regards Rune

Monaco20 06-23-2007 06:25 PM

ANyone have a pic of a martine offshore boat???

Edward R. Cozzi 06-23-2007 06:58 PM

Seems to me the HIN needed to be on the starboard side transom from 1972 on.
Kinda looks like a 24' P & D or Jaws. Many boats were knock-offs of the 24' Martini, 24' Superboat, etc. All with that narrow beam.

Monaco20 06-24-2007 04:00 PM

P& D, Jaws and Martini are unknown boats for me, any picture
of these boats somewhere??
What shall i look for if I buy this boat?? any tip?

Dangerous Dave 06-24-2007 06:31 PM

heres a P&D

nocigarette 06-24-2007 07:07 PM

Could be a 24 p and d or a excaliber

Airpacker 06-25-2007 10:30 AM

possibly an Aeromarine 24 as well.

Is a response like this even necessary? I'm sure it really helped him to answer his question..............

Wel Stevesxm, has a point, but sometimes things are more complicated than usual. This boat is in Germany the seller
do not know anything about offshore race boats, there
has been several owners inside Germany. The Hin code
is not there anymore if it was there from the beginning
anyway in 30 years a lot can happend with a number
at the transom. I am living in Norway so i need accurate info
and papers on the boat to get it into the country. Thats why
I am happy for each answer who can get me closer to find
out everything about this boat. By the way Cloudmaster
there will always be poeple answering like stevesxm..., Thanks for your comment,

tblrklakemo 06-25-2007 03:02 PM

Sounds like a lot of trouble for an older boat...IMO. Have you looked at/for anything else?

Monaco20 06-25-2007 03:25 PM

In fact i am also looking for a scarab26 excel 1987
Why? because it is a cool boat, and I owned one from 1987 to 1990. And now 17 years later i still miss this boat.
It is kind of rear so you will not find many of the for sale.
