Edelbrock top end kit
What do you guys think of using Edelbrock's SBC 435hp top end kit for a marine engine build? I am new to engine building and am having trouble finding books on marine engines.
The cam is a "Performer RPM Hydraulic roller cam".
"These cams feature more aggressive profiles than conventional cams without excessive valve overlap and are used in our 435 hp & 440 hp E-Tec crate
engines as well as the 460 hp Signature Series 383 crate engine. Roller tappets reduce friction, virtually eliminate break-in problems, and permit higher
valve velocities for increased performance. Intended for use with OEM or Edelbrock hydraulic roller tappets."

you don't want to use any of the RPM Edelbrock stuff for a marine application. You'll be better off using the Performer Edlebrock products. RPM is a single plane manifold and makes good HP in the higher RPM range but lacks the low end torque that a dual plane will give you at the lower end of the RPM range. Look for something that makes power from 1500-5500 RPM's. Remember, a boat motor is like a car motor towing something uphill all the time.

rpm intake I do believe is a dual plane just alittle dif from the perfomer intake. oh run stainless marine manifolds for no water reversion I run dry set up 670hp had the s/m since 1995 and I run in saltwater, go to trick marine for s/m. art
