Weird Problem With Bravo 1 Drive
I hope someone here can offer a little advise. 42 SONIC with twin 496ho..
Today I was cruising at about 4200 RPMS (55 MPH) with both drives out about 50%. All of a sudden the RPMS on Port went up to 4500 and I came off plane, and boat lost speed. I shifted into neutral and was unable to get Port transmission to engage. I was able to shift from Reverse to Nuetral to Forward but the Transmission is making a noise that sounded like it was half engaged. The engine is running fine, the gear oil if anything is a little high. I brought the boat back and lifted it. I then started that motor and shifted into gear and the blades are spininng.
In the water it seems like it has no balls to spin.
I check the prop for fouling and it seams fine... Can this be a busted shear pin or what??
Please Help.

It sounds to me like you have a transmission problem. If one of two transmissions sounds different and you are having difficulty shifting and can't get power to the water, then it seems like it might be the tranny.

Johny,
if by transmission, you mean the drive it's self is making noise, pull it and turn it manually.. see if you can feel anything. Check the magnets for metal. I would do this before I pulled the motor..
