Where to find a Bare Big block??

Where can I find a good BB 4 bolt at? under 60 over. Or should I just buy a new block??

Where are you located. Try to buy one as local as possible, shipping can get very costly.

I have a salt water cooled block, 4-bold gen IV, original bore, 450 ish original hours.

Try a google search of engine core's. I found mine in Chicago years ago. I'll try and find the ph#.

I have a friend who own a machine shop here in Maryland, he has 2 or 3 454 gen IV blocks std bore out of cars or trucks. He hot tanks, mags, pressure checks, line hones and taps all holes. He doesnt deck or bore and hone because he doesnt know what you have for pistons and what your combination is. I believe he gets $1500.00 a block. Just cant find a good non corroded block anymore.

What is the cost of a new block?? It has been 10 years last time I bought a block and it was All Alum. for a race car

new 502 GM Blocks can be had for around 1700.00 from most good chevy dealerships.
