Can anyone tell me by what RPM all the ignition timing should be advanced? I have a 454 bravo in a Welcraft nova 2. I found a broken spring in the distributor. I bought Mallory P/N 20915 (spring assortment) I had a yellow spring and the broken one with no paint visible. The yellow springs I bought have more coils even though the compressed length is the same. The old and new yellow springs measure the same pull at the same extended length.

I will set the base at 8 and limit the advance to 24 for a total of 32. I am also replacing the points with a pertronics Ignitor.

with the stock V8-24 module its at full advance about 3500-3700rpms.
