Will this valve spring tester work with headers??
Looks like even though my valve springs appear fine and they have less than 100 hours on them I need to check the spring pressure to diagnose a miss at 3200 or above. Might have one weak one I suppose? Any way RMBuilder has a nice set of links for on head valve spring testers.

Some more pricey than others. This looks like a quality tool worth having around.

Available from various tool sites as low as 165 bucks.
The Moroso tool looks like it may be a cheaper tool and not as accurate or harder to get repeatable results. It also looks like you may have a hard time getting a good pull on the lever while measuring valve depression.

Not having ever used this type of tool I suspect that you will not get actual valve seat pressure but only a baseline for comparison of one spring versus another. It seems it would be hard to measure open pressure due to difficulty in measuring exact valve opening. Closed pressure should be pretty easy, just record where the valve first moves off the seat.
Anyone used these before? Does it look like the Proform tool will clear Lightning headers?
Any links for a good on head valve spring compressor that actually will work in case I find a weak spring?

how much is your time worth ? for what a new set of valve springs cost vs the time, effort and aggravation that testing takes, it seems false economy to do the testing and then make a guess for an answer. i don't think your miss is a valve spring, personally, but thats not my point...
for what a set of springs cost, just do it and cross it off the list.
