Do you realize that you're looking at investing a 100k with brand new 525's, XR's, hyd steering and guages. IMO, not a smart return on your money, unless the boat was dirt cheap.

I would look for a pair of used low hour takeouts or build custom power.

FB,
Not enough details and if you are pleading for decisions from the board you need to do some homework and come up with several options. Look up the threads on the marinized ZZ502 EFI. What is wrong with current power or rebuilding what you have. A good builder could set you up with fresh stock power with tweaks for way less than buying the whole mess outright. Refresh drives or buy a spare etc.

Don't jump in head first based on emotions unless you have more money than time/brains. Might seem harsh but that type of question invites it.

PS welcome to the board...

Whether you are a rich guy or not, investing 100K in a 30K boat does not make much sense.
Rebuild the 454 Mags to make 500HP. Including exhaust headers, that with cost 7-8K each.
Rebuild the gimbles and add the full hydraulic steering. That's another 7-8K.
Then the drives rebuilt with run you 2-3K each.
Gauges ?
I think the job can be done for 30K if you're a do it yourselfer; add another 10K if you leave it to someone else.
Have Fun!

If your boat runs 75 now???? Then you've got an awefully good running Formula.
Those 454 mags will be good for another 300 hours, if they were cared for properly. If you have questions about them, have them rebuilt and stroked to 496ci. XR drives and HP transome assembleis will cost you another $13,000 per side. add another $6000 for hydralic steering.
Good luck

2000+ stepped 382's with 500HP's run 74 at best. If your boat (straight bottom) is running 75 with 454 mags them someone has done significant work to the inside of those motors. (my guess would have been 65 on GPS, not 75).
My suggestion of Arnesons on the other thread was if you had none of the hardware needed. Since you already have it, I'd seriously consider re-fresh/re-build what you already have.

Sounds Like It Would Be A Nice Package. That Sure Would Be A Pricey Upgarde, But Much Less Than A New One.
