I have a 86 320 Baja, the bolsters have a couple anchors coming out of the floor, looks like little inserts that mounted to the floor before, is there a better way to do this? I thought maybe putting down a small piece of steel to the floor and then boalt the bolsters to that for more surface area, what else can I do to keep them mounted?
Floor is not rotted, just 21 yrs of the bolsters getting stress.

there are a stain less steel molly insert type anchor you can get from a good commercial supply house. i forget the correct name off hand. i ll try to find out tomorrow.

basically its a s.s nutsert with wings that is inserted thru a pre drilled hole with a built in nylon strap. they comw in 1/4, 5/16/ ,3/8, and 7/ 16 . they work extremely well.

Cool, it has a regular insert now but it is pulling out, I may go after the kind that expand when tightened, any reason I would not want to use those?

Without seeing your situation I suspect that whatever you put down will pull out again. I am supposing that you have four places to connect. I think you are on trackl with cutting a stainless plate, fastening that to the floor (allows you to use more fasteners) and then fastening the bolster to the plate. Going this route would allow you to bolt the bolster to the plate then fasten the plate over a wider area with more connection points.

I'd cut a circular hole in the deck, so you can reach your hand up under it, then I'd put a backing plate with holes drilled in it, or big washers, bolt it to the floor, then get access plates to cover the holes.

I did not think of that until it was mentioned on my friends site, (Thrillseeker) I need to see since they bolt in by the gas tank, I will see if I have a pic to show.

Does the boat have an access panel in the center under the carpet?
Like CUDA said, a stainless steel backing plate will disperse the load over a large area, and allow you to through bolt it.

How in the L did you back that into the driveway? Forklift? Looks pretty tight.
