Actually, I believe the grey wire from the module both triggers the coil and also signals the tah.
The signal from the pickup in the distributor only sends a signal to the module. The module is programmed to set the appropriate advance then trigger the coil and tach by grounding the grey wire at the appropriate time.

No....olysan is right.....theres a gray wire that comes from the ign modual to the neg terminal of the coil....that is the trigger...Also a purple wire from the modual to Pos side terminal of coil. then theres another gray wire that comes from the main engine harness to the neg terminal of the coil....thats the Tach wire...and a purple wire from main harness to pos side terminal is your switched power...
