Later when you decide to step up to a bigger boat, you can always find cheap complete take out engines to just put back in the hole and keep you nice stuff for the next project.

We've got one of the country's best offshore engine builder right here in Western MI
BTW, As far as I know Zack is very happy....he had nothing but grief and problems from some other well known engine builder in Wisconsin that previously built his engines and charged an outrageous amount for what was done....but you can ask him about it.
I also had my 565cid engines built by Dave. I have over 230 hours on my engine thus far and if you know anything about my boat is that it is always running and running well. I do most of my boating up north these days.

drpete, I see you're from the Gaylord area. Do you know of Josh/"Perfect Mix" (38' Powerquest) and his brother Zack (35' Fountain)???? They both are from and in the Traverse City area and have a family business up there.....anyway, Zack had his supercharged engines built by Dave at WESCO last year. Not sure if you have a machine shop/engine builder or not, but if you only live in Gaylord, then a good machine shop would be Dave at WESCO Racing Engines in Jenison, Michigan down here near Grand Rapids. Dave is an extremely tallented guy with building engines destined for marine offshore hi-perf use and very reasonable in his pricing. 95% of the engines he builds are for marine offshore. And he has an excellent reputation too. He can/will tell you what you can get away with and what you CANNOT get away with.

I have a place on a small lake in Grayling with a slip that I keep the boat in. Plan to make a trip over to torch this summer. also plan to watch thunder over boyne.

Should be close to 475-500HP.
Traditionally this boat went 74-75mph with an old styl HP 500 with a 24P B1 at 5300rpm's
I am running a 26pitch B1 at 4200 rpms with it before I upgraded it and was hitting 73.
I expect it to run faster with this engine and the correct prop, if I actually install the engine.
It requires an upgraded exhaust.

Thanks I will call them. Currently I am dead in the water and trying to save the marriage by not spending too much money these days. I would be happy with getting about 450 hp. ill bet I would gain close to 5 mph with that.
