Whats a baja motor???

CAPTAIN CHUCK 10-04-2007 03:20 PM

What brand of aftermarket springs is a good bet to put on these motors? Also what is the size of the springs?

Anyone....... I know a few guys had to do the swap on here.

Crane 929-16 for an HP500. That's what I swaped the stocker's out with.

Thanks Dave!!! This post had 370 views and nobody knew this info until now:readinghelp:....I thought I would never find out. I guess there aren't as many 500HP's out there like I thought....

Thanks Again bro,
Chuck

After reading several posts about the strain blowers/chargers put on an engine and the drives I have decided to stick with changing the internals for more HP. Any suggestions are welcome. I would like to see around 590-610HP at the prop with the Merc 500's.

Any ideas?????

I have one..........get a boat first, drive the boat, get used to the boat. Going from a 24 Outlaw to a boat with twin 500's is a big jump by itself.

Then worry about going faster after you know your budget.

My combo makes around 630 HP.

AFR 315 (Fully CNC'd) Heads
Crane Cam 168741
1.7 Ratio rockers on the exhaust
1.8 Ratio rockers on the intake
CMI Elbow tops
Crane Hi-6M ignition
1" HVH supersucker carb spacer
Harden Marine 10 quart Oil pans
Harden Marine 620-700 Oil coolers

Stock JE pistons, Rods, Stock Dart 6200 intake manifold, Stock Holley Carb and fuel system.

That should do it...Worked for me.

Hey Dave how you been buddy? I hope all is well in NY. That setup looks pretty close to what I am looking for without having to resort to the blowers. What is a ballpark figure I should expect on getting an engine up to that? I know it's not going to be cheap but in the long run I think I will be happier.
Thanks for the input.

Chuck
