Outdrives, trim out different speeds.
Is there a way to adjust the trim speed on the 496 / Bravo drives?
My outdrives will not go up and down at the same rate. After some trimmng one will be higher. Lifting the drives wil do the same thing. One will be higher, then I have to adjust with the drive buttons to align them. (not the trim button on the throttle, but the individual buttons on the dash) Very frustrating. Help.:( Thx P |
A few different things may cause that problem. Very often it is corrosion build up at the end cap of a cylinder. A loose or corroding wire end may contribute. I would first check there and then look toward a weak pump.

No corrosion anywhere near pumps, ends, or at the fittings. Seems like one pump just pumps faster then the other. No adjustments?? P |
run a preasure gauge on each thats quickest way.there are many other varibles binding water in the cylinders one pump weaker.

Measure the voltage using a digital volt meter while you are running the pump: I'll bet the slow pump shows a lower voltage. Probably due to a longer wire, or a smaller wire, or a loose or bad connection anywhere between the battery, to switch, to pump, or perhaps a corroded wire even under the insulation.

anxious to see what you find, I had/have the same problem from the day it came home from the factory.

Assuming the fault or variable is in the pump itself and you can not correct it externally you may be able to change the viscosity of the fluid in the pumps. One may need thinner other thicker etc. I have not talked to anyone who has done this but I see things changing with temperatures. Maybe not? In any case I bet you could get them closer.

2112, On new equipment if voltages are equal I have like BadDog said changed oil. It calls for 10-30 or 10-40. I have also found it is hard to fill and bleed system with anything heavier. If you difference is minimal you can it even with oil.

Does the oil continually circulate while running?

2112, I think not, it will push in one direction than be pushed back. If you remove a line from cylinder to purge and replace I think you would get an effective exchange. One direction at a time. Run pump with jumper to make sure you don't allow reservior to empty.
