I have a 1999-502 MPI engine with a upside down oil filter, what oil filter have a anti-drainback valve.

Most good filters. Stay away from Fram - rubber cheap check. If you look at the materials versus a Wix or NAPA filter you'd be amazed!!

if you have the clearance, the AC Delco pf932 a;llows you to carry one extra quart of oil in the system.

Mobil 1 M1-302.

ONLY Fram. We have been using them for years with no issues. Compare the Fram to Wix. The Fram is a high burst pressure, high volume filter. I wouldn't run a Wix if they gave them out free. HP 4

50 years experience here. Sorry, just trying to help through what we have seen. Take a compare the to filters. Look at the size of the inlet holes in both, the construction of cartridge, element, ect. It will speak for it's self. :D

Any idea who makes the Merc oil filters?

I think you may have this backwards...honestly. Not looking to start anything, but there is a cut way of both filters showing the internals, listing the flows and the pressures. Wix is much better constructed than Fram. I'm talking about the big filters though. I think they are equal to the HP6 Fram, which I have had several issues with.

Here is a thread from a Camaro site. The pictures are identical to the cut away I have seen. There is no way that you can dispute that the construction of the WIX is far superior to the Fram.

Evidently we aren't the only ones in disagreement!!
