Default bbc too high oil pressure

been fighting oil leaks since assy of these world power 540's,ive changed oil pumps from high pressure /high volumn at 80 lbs idle to high volumn /standard pressure which knocked it down to 70 lbs at idle, when you crack the throttle it jumps to 100, the rotating assys where assembled by world and im pretty sure the clearances are right and im having high oil temps problem as well,im running the push in moroso breathers as it pushed the pvc out, the motors are turning 5950 rpms, carbed... right now there out of the boat and on the floor so i want to get it right this time, also am running boostpower remote filter with the fram hp 6's,not sure if this plays into it but anyone have any suggestions? thanks
scott

You need to change the pressure spring in the pump. It is too tight right now causing the high pressure.

Scott,

Where is the oil leaking from ?? Although I dont like that much oil pressure, it really should not cause any leaks other than maybe in the oil cooler and filter lines, and even those should easily withstand those pressures.

The fact that the engine is pushing the breathers out has nothing whatsoever to do with oil pressure. Only excessive crankcase pressure (blowby) will do that.

The high oil temps might be caused by not enough bearing clearance, among other things.

While the engines are out pull the oil pans and check your clearances with plastiguage. IN a few hours for a few dollars you will know what you got. A small investment could save a much larger one.

thanks for all the responces
the consences seems to comes down to 2 things
1.put standard oil pumps in and hope to get closer to 60 lbs at idle
2.run 2 breathers in valve covers
is this what your saying?

Check oil pressure with another gauge and/or sender first!

Exclamation

Have you checked the oil pressure relief valve under the oil thermostat housing. Most are set to 30 psi.

Scott,
You did not answer the question as to where the oil is leaking from. If it is the breathers, then the oil pressure has nothing to do with it and you need to do more tests to see what the problem is. You do need to verify the pressure also with mechanical gauges.
