Are the mounting holes and exhaust ports in an 8.1 (496) the same as 454/502?

Yes.

I have a set of 2004 stock 496 exhausts bolted on my 1989 454. Works perfectly.

Here is a dumb question. So why are the headers priced so differently between 496 and the 502's?
