Default Looking for a Junk Block BBC

I am wondering if anyone has a junk Merlin Block, or knows of someone that has one laying around they want to get rid of. The block in question would be a Merlin Super Tall Deck block with an 11.625 deck.

This block was used in tractor pulling and drag racing, if you know anyone that might have a damaged one around.. ??? Maybe one that a piston went through the block??

Anything close would work. All I need is something I can put a crank and cam in and spin on the spintron.
If you have any junk like this laying around.. give me a pm.. would be interested taking it off your hands.

Thanks
Dick

I really need to get a Ford 460 block out of my shed. It has been indoors here for almost 30 years now. It came out of a 1977 Ford F250 and it does have a little rust on it!

Let me know and I'll put it on the big truck for you COLLECT!

LOL... I would think that should be a collector's item! Should bring big money on ebay... Not sure my Chevy crank would fit in it... But thanks for the offer!!

How is your project coming along??

I don't know the geometry of the block, but could you use a std Merlin with a spacer under the head and end up in the same place?

Ben,
Have to have a raised cam by .400", otherwise it would work. Not sure what other BBC blocks have raised cam.. but a spacer would work then.. I believe??!

Vinny,
I was thinking of using someone elses.. Trend's is down for remodling at the moment, but I am sure there are others. I guess I could build one.... but.. LOL!!
Maybe when I get a chance to quit the day job.. I'll put it on the list..

I got a new gadget. Not sure what I'm going to do with it but I'm sure I'll think of something.

Nice "Toy" Patriyacht......... We have one just like that in our shop at work. I'd give my left nut to have that and a small lathe at my disposal.
