Default TV Antenna

Do any of you guys use TV antennas for your TV's while on the water ? Perhaps a omnidirectional HDTV antenna that also receives VHF/UHF ? I was thinking about putting one in the nose of my boat but wondered how well it would work. I would never permanently install it above deck...I'd be interested to hear which makes and models you guys have tried that work well.

Also, I really only need a UHF antenna as I only plan to watch HD channels OTA.

UHF signal strength drops off pretty rapidly with distance. You would have to be very near the TV tower to get good reception with anything small and omni directional. I'd run some tests before doing a permanent installation.
