Merc heads??
Does anyone have any info on the 525sc factory iron heads? Square or round? Combustion size? I called merc and surprisingly they dont know! Part number is 826363A1...
Thanks, |
i believe they were 990 rectange ports. This was four a GEN IV block. It think the later ones were 088 rectangle and i think that was for a GEN V. Chamber was 188 or119cc .

thanks!!
That all sounds right. I was thinking it was gen4 myself. Was there anything special about the plug locations or anything that you remember?
Thanks |
I have a 525SC gen V.
Castings are 088, rectangular, adjustable valve train (1,88 & 2,19 valves, combustion chamber is as stated earlier 118. Plug location is "GM stock". bl |

Thanks guys
Thank you jesus. Seriously, this motor is hard to find info on! Even merc plays dumb...any of you guys have a manual or know where to get one???
thanks!!!! |
Here is a link to the factory manual. I had one and it has a lot of good info. I did find a few mistakes a couple printed specs. You need the HP3 Manual in The Hi Perf section. I don't think the price is correct unless they are trying to get rid of them.

Thanks!!!!! Mike |
I'm pretty familiar with it. I had one for 5 years and went through the top end it. It had over 500 hrs on the bottom and was still running strong when Dude sweet pulled it for some HUGE power.
