Default Merc heads??

Does anyone have any info on the 525sc factory iron heads? Square or round? Combustion size? I called merc and surprisingly they dont know! Part number is 826363A1...

i believe they were 990 rectange ports. This was four a GEN IV block. It think the later ones were 088 rectangle and i think that was for a GEN V. Chamber was 188 or119cc .

That all sounds right. I was thinking it was gen4 myself. Was there anything special about the plug locations or anything that you remember?

I have a 525SC gen V.
Castings are 088, rectangular, adjustable valve train (1,88 & 2,19 valves, combustion chamber is as stated earlier 118. Plug location is "GM stock".

badluck is right on. They are just stock GM rect port heads.

Thank you jesus. Seriously, this motor is hard to find info on! Even merc plays dumb...any of you guys have a manual or know where to get one???

Here is a link to the factory manual. I had one and it has a lot of good info. I did find a few mistakes a couple printed specs. You need the HP3 Manual in The Hi Perf section. I don't think the price is correct unless they are trying to get rid of them.

I'm pretty familiar with it. I had one for 5 years and went through the top end it. It had over 500 hrs on the bottom and was still running strong when Dude sweet pulled it for some HUGE power.
