On a stock '96 454 carbed motor are the intake gaskets marine or can automotive gaskets be used?

I have them in stock. The best for that would be the graphite layered with steel core.

The only intake gaslets I would consider marine specific are the ones merc uses. They are the graphite/steel core. I have always just used Felpro's with the printoseal and never had any issues.

I have had the best luck with the HP500 intake gaskets, they seem to be a bit thicker and take up a little more space for imperfections between the intake and block.

felpro's or MR. gaskets will work fine, merc does not make gaskets, they just repackage others and mark them up 40%

Who makes the graphite steel core?

Don't know whose manuf these are, but I'd like some more! Nice thickness, beaded ports, and no crossover crap.

Anybody recognize these puppies? The partial part number is 05403-1

The felpro's with printoseal are the same as those except blue.

These compsites might be worth a try, as I need a paint scraper to release plain "Printoseal" - waht's the level of pain to remove the composites?
