Default Mesa Racing Engines SBFord build up

Guys we haven't been posting we've been developing some low comp cam profiles to run low Brake Specifics and yield the highest HP and torque numbers here is the fruit of our latest labor this will be in a magazine article for specific reasons I can't say which one yet but you guys know I take care of you guys first this is a small block Ford with nothing special the heads were Dart aluminum and flowed 306 on the intake with some pocket porting and short side work Victor Jr. intake and the custom cam ground on a 106 lobe sep and install in at 104 intake centerline I had AED build me a carb and used an import dist with 16degrees of mechanical advance we had BSFC numbers from 3000RPM to 6500RPM in the high 30s to low 40s we made peak HP of 618 @ 6400rpm and peak tourque of 576 ft lbs this all on 89oct. pump gas and with exhaust temps no higher than 1270 degrees. Hereis a pic of the stock 351 block in the hone after the alighnhone and the deck surface was finished and a video of the engines last pull. Hope you guys enjoy.SIncerely Laz Mesa
P.S. I have a marine big block chevy we're starting this week with the same type of profile and as soonas I have that one I'll post also.

Laz, that's cool! I asume that's the newer style "windsor"block. What could you get out of the older Clevland block?

Damn, 618HP on 89oct. Those are some great numbers. Wouldn't that be fun in a 65 Fastback.
