Oil splash guard under intake

Hi guys, I'm rebuilding a 2nd Gen VI 502 for my Powerplay and it does not have an oil splash sheild that goes in between the lifters and the bottom of the intake. Should I purchase one or do I really not need it anyway. I'm running AFR 315s with Edelbrock Victor Jr intakes.

Thanks,
Frank

I would add one. It will only help.

Hmm, now I have to try to find a part # I'm sure I can get it right from GM. Anyone know a source for finding this part #?

Thanks
Frank

ls1nova,
I saw your your thread for your oil temp gauges. I can't post in the wanted section forum. I just ordered gaffrig oil temp gauges from CP marine for $18ea. They are gauge part # 5520 and sendor 9110 or 9116 for $10. They are solid white gaffrig with black writhing and black needle.
Heres the thread
