Plate in riser of 496 manifolds...

Are these needed for sure? they look small, I thought I read they are not that critical, I want to see if I should run them or not..

Take them out. Makes it sound like a 500. Added 1 mph to my boat.

Tinkerer 05-11-2008 11:41 AM

Arn't they in there to stop reversion?

I DIG IT !! 05-11-2008 12:44 PM

I still have mine. Took them out this winter when the whipple was put on. There yours if you want then.

mwdill 05-11-2008 05:14 PM

like above, took mine out and sounded better and picked up about 100 rpm's

as a non paying cheapo member I can't PM...:party-smiley-004:

GoFastSonic or I DIG IT !! if you could contact me via E-mail [email protected] thanks!

Also, I read here that they are 'probably' there to help catch any condensation drip more than to combat reversion.

Full Force 05-12-2008 04:46 AM

I ended up leaving them in for now, iw as told they are for condensation like staed above, I may experiment this summer, I will remove them and see if any gains happen if not I wiill put them back in to be safe, thanks for all the help!!
