Just the standard edition scan and tune will allow you to do everyting you want. You can change like 900 things with it!!
I did not buy the rpm converter so I have to scribble on a pad of paper while watching the scanner on the laptop and the lm-1 meter. It would be nice to have them together and create one log, but unless you have like a mefi4 that was already set up to read 02, or did some pin outs to adapt for it, I don't know how to make the lm-1 work with the scanner software. Even with the rpm converter the lm-1 still wont tell you the MAP reading so you can't be sure which table to address.
I just write down my RPM/MAP/AFR and then adjust BPW in the corresponding table... a little time consuming, but it works well.

Same here. I just write down the AFR and the RPM then I compare it to what the MEFIBurn has logged. I just leave my laptop on the front seat and let it record. I did not order the usb/serial adaptor seeing as I have one, works fine. It's and IBM pn22P9035. I'm running Vista as well, trawfish did you have any issues with the computer locking up during data logging? I has happened once so far.

No, I have had it skip a little, but I found if you make sure the cable is clear of any ignition parts it wont act up so much. I guess the ignition noise creates issues. I think I once read you can get a shielded cable?

Trawfish, again I apologize for your unsatisfactory experience with Crockett,I know I am partially resposible because I endorse his work and reccomended him. He is a friend of mine and has always done excellent tuning for me but I know that doesn't help your situation or give you the satisfaction you were looking for. It is difficult to tune a procharged motor without tuning it on the water or on the dyno,I'm sure things would have been different if Tyler could have tuned it in person.
As far as the bell/cartech regulator, you are the first person I have heard of who was able to properly tune the afr's on a procharged motor without raising the fuel pressure substationally. I originally set my boat up with one after not being able to get enough fuel pressure consitantly on the top end years ago and I shared the info w/tyler,we both have used this regulator on procharged motors and I have reccomended it to many others who used it to solve their procharger fuel pressure tuning issues. What kind of fuel press did you end up with at wot,I am convinced your injectors must flow more fuel then most stock ones (usually 42lb or 38 lb per hr),it seems this must be behind your rich conditions. It is more ideal to have a set-up where the 2 bar map sensor and injector p/w takes care of the engines extra fuel needs (like yours) versus boosting the fuel pressure up to the moon (a crude but effective solution). I am glad to hear that you do have your engine properly tuned now and can put this behind you and enjoy your boat,be safe driving it. I recently ordered the mefi-burn software for myself so I can fine tune my current mefi4 ecms on the water,my blown set-up seems pretty close to perfect but I especially want to fine tune my N/A program. I have had Tyler do this in the past and would just have him do it now but I am working 96-112 hours a week right now and it looks like the onlytime I will have to tune it will be over the 4th of july weekend,I plan on working on it a few hours each morning when the lake traffic isn't busy. I am ordering a lm-1,not sure if I'm going to get the rpm adapter or not. I plan on putting another mefi4 I have on a pontiac engine in my 74 transam so I need to learn how to work with the stuff myself. Enjoy your boat,I hope to have my out soo,Smitty

As far as AZSM,years ago I tried getting technical answers/help from them on tuning questions on my set-up,the kid I talked to on the phone (he insisted he was their efi tech) contradicted himself in the same conversation and insisted I needed to send him my complete intake manifold just to convert it to bigger injectors. I didn't have a warm fuzzy feeling after talking to them and never did business with them,Smitty

Smitty,
Good to hear from you... I don't really wanna talk about your buddy anymore, he just keeps trying to turn this around on me and i'm tired of it.
I don't think the Bell reg. is a bad thing, I just ended up not needing it, but I totally agree with it's function. Who knows, I might find I will need it later. I am still waiting to upgrade to something like Lightning headers for some better flow later on. I will need to re-program when I add those, and your are right... everything says my injectors should be to small, but the AFR's don't lie. I have reset the meter a few times just to be sure
Setting up a 74' T/A huh? Are we talking black with gold bird and through hood cowl? The first car I built was a 70' Formula 400 about 22 years ago. Ahh the ol' Mallory Dual Point and tuning with a Dwell meter! Good Times! I had a 79 Firebird Esprit after that with a 301... What a turd! I switched to chevys after that and stuck with them. Are you putting in a crate motor, or converting the original to EFI ?
I was looking at the Ramjet 502 crate set up's a while back for another project, but things got dragged out and pricey this winter, so I will have to wait. I have seen a few in the local muscle cars and they seem to put up good numbers. I think it would be great use your new software to tune one of those. I think they run mefi4's. I had a few people state the GM program was a bit rough and had to have AZS&M clean it up. That would be cool to be able to do it yourself in your own sweet time.
Good luck!

Heres a pic of the T/A,I just came in from the shop from going thru the "built" quadrajet I shelled out 300$ for that doesn't work correctly, this winter the motor is going from a 400 to a 455 and getting efi. I have almost enough left over parts to build another 540 but my pontiac buddies would hang me,Smitty

[QUOTE=trawfish;2589629]#1 I apologize to Warlock28SXT for ruining this thread with a pissing match
No need to apologize, thanks though. It definitely was not my intention to start this to end up stepping on any toes. I only had my ECM reprogrammed once. The only issue I have with it is the long distance. Sending the ECM away and waiting for it to return kind of takes the instant gratification out o f the equation. I have heard good things about all of the above mentioned programmers. I have only used one. I am glad to here you are running good now. I feel we all have learned that prochargers are kind of a PIA to set up, every motor is different. Anyway enjoy your boat. I have some time now and the weather is finally clearing up. I hope to get the boat out this weekend to go through the tuning step by step. I would love to get it dialed in soon seeing as our season is soooooo short up here.

If you get into it, let me know what you end up with for total spark advance at full boost. I am being real conservative and have alot of boost retard pluged in but I will probably play with it the next time I put the tuner on it. I have been all zeros on knock so far, so lets hope I don't kill something
