yeh where was it originaly sold and what year? was it a high hp one? it it a original merc blue motor?

Look down low in the rear at the transmission flange for a mercruiser tag. That number will tell you what it is. Other than that, it's anybody's guess who built it and with what parts. Could be any number of possibilities.
