I need to test my CMI for my 525

Hello all ,
i just remove my CMI sport tube from my 525 efi , and in exaust port number 3 and 7 i found some water drop (it`s not water because when i winterizing my block last fall i put 4 gallons of RV antifreeze and not water in the last minute running) What i done so far is ....fill up the headers with water ...and after that pressurise with air at 7 psi .....and put some heat with propane torch ....and i see no water coming .... i am little lost here .... i put not enought heat ? , tomorow i will post more picture if i am not clear feel free to ask Regards |

Ok , what i found so far is , nothing special :D , i will reinstall the header , and after some running hour , take off and check again .....because after fill up with water and pressurise at 7 lbs , i use propane torch to heat up and nothing happen

Anybody have ever do a test like this ? , i am wrong ?

I have. I used air alone and no water. I put 20 psi on the whole system when I did mine, I let it site all night under pressure. By just testing the header you are assuming the problem can only be the header. What about an intake leak or head gasket leak on that cylinder? I would say your header is fine.
By the way mine tested fine under pressure but looked like this the pics below. Problem ended up being the flaps in the exhaust, or lack of. |

The oil temp should be around 220-230 degrees to keep the condinsation out of the oil. If you don't have a oil temp gauge you can use a heat sencing gun and shoot it at the oil filter to get a reading. Good luck
