Default Ect & Mefi

Has anyone found a way for the ECT to lie to the computer so it will come off enrichment mode without reaching 140 degrees

You can turn it off completly in the ECM. Must have the software to do it or send somewhere.

A resistor will work. I made a temp sensor "simulator" using a reostat and small project box found a local electronics store. That way you can dial in any temp you want. The one in the picture is setup to simulate the exhaust temp sensors on 496/8.1, but you could make a similar thing to work on an ECT sensor.

Dave
Thanks for the info. When I checked the ECT with a digital ohm meter on the 20k scale the cold reading was 2.40 & the reading @140 degrees was 0.45. I'll try to duplicate the 0.45on an old reostat that's laying around. Thanks again
