Is your box wired direct to battery? Not to engine hot.

The box can't tell where the current is coming from. In marine applications, the first thing I always question is grounds and corrosion. Is there a chance you have your coil leads switched?

Remember that the distributor will fire the coil without the box. You can bypass for a test.

more to the point, why are you using an absolute piece of garbage like the msd 6 anyway ? if you persist, i suggest having 2 spares on board and one on your keychain so you can at least get halfway home...

People have their ideas of what works and what wont work...If ya have some helpfull hints of what could be my problem i would love to hear them? It is always better in life to be part of the solution and not part of the problem......I guess i know where you stand....
