454 mag heads different

my friend has a 1996 454 mag with a cracked block. are those heads better then my 01 454 mpi. couuld i bolt the mag heads on if they are better?

Post the casting numbers. Yours should be 990 heads- they're pretty good.

How did the block crack? Make sure to have those heads checked thoroughly if you decide to use them.

never winterized it cracked in lifter valley
