Steering wheel slop

How much play in the steering wheel is normal with brand new 496HO/BravoX drive....stock steering. My wheel has about 1-1/2" slop...new boat. This normal?

Normal...mine is about the same...will be installing full external hydraulic steering then there will be no wheel slop. :D

with stock cable sys., that is about the norm.
