Steering wheel slop

How much play in the steering wheel is normal with brand new 496HO/BravoX drive....stock steering. My wheel has about 1-1/2" slop...new boat. This normal?

Normal...mine is about the same...will be installing full external hydraulic steering then there will be no wheel slop.

with stock cable sys., that is about the norm.
