Mufflers or Turn Downs

Here is how I "solved" that problem. The exhaust pipes are 4-5" under water @ idle, thus killing most of the "noise" and all 4 are between the drives and pointing downward , sending the exhaust rearward, not out to the side. I have not done a db test on this system, but I know it is a lot quieter than when I had Gaffrig air-mufflers, with built in turndowns, that leaked ex. around the butterfly's. The motors are 572" PSI supercharged, 1100hp. Hope this helps.

I had ggb's on my last boat they worked great. no rpm loss Talked to him last week hes not building boat mufflers right now (wouldnt say why ) only for atv's, did say next year would be back in boat mufflers business .

Maybe the testing did not go well. May have to look to the Zoomers

Reply to 1CE. I tried inward only once, several years ago. It did not seem to make any difference, but the handling around the docks was a struggle. I'm planning on switching the drives in a week, to turn the props inward, to give it another shot. I will report back as to what my findings are.
